The organization seeks to achieve its mission by creating awareness about environmental issues, promoting renewable energy and sustainable development practices, and supporting research and development in the field of green technology.
The vision of the GreenTech Foundation Bangladesh is to create a sustainable future for Bangladesh by promoting the use of renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and conserving natural resources. The organization envisions a future where the country’s economic growth and development are achieved without compromising the environment, and where people live in harmony with nature. The GreenTech Foundation Bangladesh aims to achieve this vision by working with individuals, communities, and organizations to promote sustainable practices and create a more resilient and environmentally friendly society.

The Aims And Objects Of The Foundation Are:
To promote education, and training in all matters related to environmental management, green banking, green business, green entrepreneurship development, energy & power, green industry, use of renewable energy sources, green technology, green construction, bioenergy, wave energy, and all other sources energy, energy efficiency, safety, and climate change issues To disseminate knowledge, and encourage people to use of eco-friendly, energy-efficient products to achieve SDG. To advance the scientific, technical, and practical aspects of waste management to safeguard the environment including clean Technology, Energy Efficiency, and climate change To promote Research & Development activities relating to power, energy, renewable energy, environment, climate change, green finance, green business, and entrepreneurship development To project an appropriate and progressive image of achievements in the field of renewable energy Industry, energy efficiency, and green technology in Bangladesh and abroad To promote innovative use of technology in the conservation of energy, scarce materials, and natural resources To be an interface and facilitate dialogue among the various institutions and organizations along with the donor agencies & development partners in Bangladesh connected with Environment & Energy Management, Waste Management, Pollution Control, Climate Change Effects, and rural development and work as Think Tank for the government to make the country green.
GreenTech Foundation Bangladeshis also involved in research, training, consultancy & advocacy programmed through green banking, green business, green investment, green entrepreneurship development, green technology, and carbon trading project that are directly and indirectly involved in the environment, climate change renewable energy and disaster management in the country to achieve SDG goals GreenTech Foundation Bangladesh has Moues with government departments, public and private universities, international agencies, NGOs private sector, and academic training and research institutes with whom it considers itself to have significant working relationships and thus contributes towards achieving national sustainability vision and world Sustainable Development Goals. These Moues set out the overall framework of relationships and intend to stimulate more effective collaboration and agree on one broa while recognizing the independence of each partner to pursue their policies prioritize and approaches and concentrate on their core competencies.

Our Activities
ACTIVITIES WITH BANKS & FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS:
🞕 To inspire and monitor the banks and financial institutions to follow and implement the Green Banking Policies of Bangladesh Bank related to renewable energy at the remote customer level. 🞕 To inspire Banks and Financial Institutions for using energy efficient products inside their banks like LED lights, Solar ATM booths, Solar in their remote & urban branch instead of a generator, uses of less paper, more use of daylight in their all branches, use Rain Water Harvesting Systems and Rooftop gardening in the Bank.
🞕 To inspire banks for providing loans/finance to Solar & Renewable Energy related products/industries and energy-efficient products/industries and supervise the financial & technical feasibility on behalf of Bangladesh Bank for getting the Refinancing fund. 🞕 Arrange the training program for inspiring the personnel of Banks to better understand renewable energy products. 🞕 Arrange Carbon Benefit Awards for the institutions that are using renewable energy products and provide finance to renewable energy & energy efficient products.
ACTIVITIES WITH UNIVERSITIES, SCHOOLS & EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS:
Motivate the authorities of the Universities, Collage & Schools for using renewable energy and energy-efficient products in their institutions.
Arrange talks and training programs to build awareness of the teachers & students for using renewable energy & energy efficient products and changing their lifestyle.
Affiliate various renewable energy courses with foreign universities and arrange scholarships and jobs for the students Energy & Environmental Studies Program (EESP) at BUP has been launched on 22 August 2017 formally with a target to work with government & i-agencies on climate change, UN SDG, and renewable energy issues as a testing lab and consulting agencies to lead among all institutes in this sector. On 26 September 2017, we organized a roundtable discussion program on capacity building and the role of universities in presence of the chairman of UGC where BUP was in a leading position. Representatives from many public and private organizations were present at that event.
GreenTech Foundation Bangladesh is delighted to support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) These 17 goals set forth a challenge for humanity to decouple economic growth from climate change, poverty, and inequality. We believe all initiatives taken by GreenTech Foundation may contribute towards meeting the Sustainable Development Goals in Bangladesh. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with their 169 targets, form the core of the 2030 Agenda. They balance the economic, social, and ecological dimensions of sustainable development, and place the fight against poverty and sustainable development on the same agenda for the first time.
We aim to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges confronting the world. GreenTech Foundation Bangladesh works closely with partner organizations United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, and civil society. The organization and governance of GreenTech Foundation aim to enable a large number of leaders from different diverse backgrounds to participate in the development of the network.
The SDGs are to be achieved around the world, and by all UN member states, by 2030. This means that all states are called upon equally to play their part in finding shared solutions to the world’s urgent challenges. Bangladesh is also required to implement the Goals on a national basis. In addition, incentives are to be created to encourage non-governmental actors to make an increasingly active contribution to sustainable development.
